The Ontario RAT 7 is a solid survival knife with a blade made from 1095 carbon steel. This is strong type of steel that is easy to sharpen. The extremely sustainable powder coating on the blade protects it from the increased corrosion sensitivity of the carbon steel. That is why we recommend to keep this knife dry and possibly slightly greasy. The wonderful usage qualities of the steel guarantee a lifetime of pleasure. The knife is enhanced with a micarta handle The handle feels slightly coarse which is great because it is comfortable to hold and offers enough grip.
